Progression – full-time attendance
Undergraduate
Any semesters during which are you are on leave of absence, or that are V-coded, are not included in the semester counts below.
Arts, Divinity and Science
As defined in UG Senate Regulation I F 44, you must achieve certain minimum progress in order to avoid your studies being placed on probation:
- you must pass at least 20 credits in every semester;
- you must have passed at least 80 credits after two semesters of study;
- you must have passed at least 160 credits after four semesters of study;
- you must have passed at least 240 credits after six semesters of study.
You must also complete your degree within the maximum time allowed:
- eight semesters of study for a General degree
- ten semesters of study for a BSc, MA or MTheol Honours degree
- with exactly four semesters for the Honours part of the programme
- twelve semesters of study for an Integrated Masters degree
- with exactly six semesters for the Honours part of the programme
Medicine
As defined in UG Senate Regulation V C 5, you must achieve certain minimum progress in order to avoid your studies being placed on probation:
- you must pass some credits in every academic year;
- you must have passed at least 60 credits at 2000-level after two semesters of study;
- you must have passed at least 120 credits at 2000-level after three semesters of study;
- you must have passed at least 120 credits at 3000-level after five semesters of study.
You must also complete your degree within seven semesters.
Postgraduate
As defined in PG Senate Regulation B VI 6, you must achieve certain minimum progress in order to avoid termination of studies:
- you must pass at least 40 credits in every semester.
You must also complete your qualification within the maximum time allowed:
- two consecutive semesters of study for a Postgraduate certificate
- one year of study for a Postgraduate diploma
- one year of study for a Masters degree
