  • update personal details
  • complete a number of core student training modules online

  • sign up to the Matriculation Agreement (University terms and conditions)
    Terms and conditions of study

Matriculation event

The matriculation event usually takes place in the Gateway building during orientation week and in January for students starting in semester 2 or returning from leave of absence.

If you are a new student, or a returning international student (not UK or EU with pre-settled/settled status), you must attend an ID check and you must ensure:

  • You have completed the personal details task in MySaint prior to your ID check.
  • If you are a new student, you have your passport or UK birth certificate and proof of national insurance number (for example, letter from UK Gov, pay slip) for identity verification with you at your ID check.
  • If you are an international student, you also have your visa, biometric residence permit (BRP card), or digital share code with you for your ID check.

If you are a returning UK or EU student with pre-settled/settled status, you do not need to attend an ID check, though you must still complete online matriculation.

Failure to matriculate

All elements of matriculation must be completed by the specified deadline, to avoid your studies being terminated.
