Dementia Carer Support Signposting Info
According to the report published by Alzheimer Scotland:
- approximately 7,000 people in Scotland are diagnosed with dementia every year
- approximately 86,000 people have dementia in Scotland in 2013, around 3,200 of these people are under the age of 65
- estimated data for Fife population = 6,335 people

Dementia Support Group for University of St Andrews Staff
There is an informal peer to peer Dementia Support Group for all staff members affected, directly or indirectly, by dementia now or in the past. The group is small and friendly and meets twice per semester, usually on Wednesdays at 1.10pm. For further details, please contact Julia Prest (jtp22@st-andrews.ac.uk).
Fife Dementia Resource Centre offers the following services:
- Information and support
- Home and community support
- Carer education and support
- Fife Memory Clinic/Early Stage Service
- Drop in Information Café
- for people with dementia and support for their families, friends and carers
- an opportunity to meet with other people in similar situations for social, emotional and practical support
