The HR team are working via a hybrid approach. HR staff can be contacted using Microsoft Teams or email. Employee assistance programme (EAP)

The employee assistance programme (EAP) is a confidential helpline for all University staff to support with personal problems that can affect your work life, home life, and general wellbeing.

Pay Award 2025-2026

  • The University has now implemented the nationally negotiated pay award for 2025/26 (PDF, 571 KB)nationally negotiated pay award for 2025/26 (PDF, 571 KB). This comprises a 1.4% uplift applied to all points on the national pay spine, with effect from 1 August 2025.
  • A separate communication has been issued to colleagues on SCPs 7 to 10 to explain how the timing and level of the salary uplift is impacted by the University’s ongoing commitment to paying the Voluntary Living Wage.
  • You can view a copy of the updated pay scale on the HR website (on the right-hand side under documents).
  • Unsure what your current scale point is? You can find this by logging into Self service. (Select your picture on the right-hand side, view my details, appointment history and then the information icon to show your current scale point).

Christmas and New Year closure arrangements 2025 – 2026

The University will close for the Christmas vacation from 5.00 pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 and will re-open on Monday 5 January 2026.

Statutory days are 25 and 26 December 2025 and 1 and 2 January 2026. Staff will, as normal, be required, unless local arrangements are in force, to take the intervening working days (29, 30 and 31 December 2025) as part of their annual leave entitlement. Please remember, any holiday request which spans the closure period should not include the statutory dates as these are in addition to your annual leave entitlement.

  • Peppy - All employees (and partners) can register with Peppy for free to receive support and advice on Menopause and Men's Health including fitness, nutrition and mental health support. 
  • Involve yourself - Provides information to staff on how to become involved with the wider University community. the town of St Andrews and beyond. 
  • Research - A gateway for staff to research-related areas supported by the University of St Andrews.
