Cindy Cromar

Counsellor

Cindy has been with the University of St Andrews since 2009.  She joined Student Services in June 2014 as a Wellbeing Adviser and Life Coach. And, as of January 2022, changed role to work as a Counsellor. 

Cindy graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a BA in Literary Studies, obtained a PG Diploma in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology from the University of East London and completed a MSc in Counselling from the University of Abertay.  She also works in the volunteer sector around addiction and behavioural change.  Cindy is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working towards accreditation.

Working as a pluralistic counsellor, Cindy collaborates with students as individuals to understand the issues impacting them in order to have a more productive student experience, personally and academically.  She works with a variety of therapeutic approaches, integrating mindfulness and positive psychology, to empower students to find solutions to their problems, facilitate change, build resilience and work towards their potential.
