Grounds services

Grounds Services are specifically responsible for development and maintenance of the University's amenity, recreational and landscaped areas; consisting of some 63 separate locations throughout St Andrews and the surrounding area.

Services supplied include:

• All horticultural maintenance to grass and lawn areas, shrub, herbaceous, annual borders and trees.
• The provision of floral displays for official University functions and the graduation garden parties.
• The upkeep and pruning of hedges, ivy, climbers and tree surgery, felling and planting.
• The maintenance and installation of hard and soft landscape features.
• The provision and maintenance of 16 hectares of natural grass sports fields for playing of football, rugby, hockey and shinty. Tennis, football and hockey are also catered for on the artificial surfaces.
• Snow, ice and litter clearance duties are also our core responsibility.
