Question: What are Misconduct Warnings?
Academic Misconduct warnings are like Academic Alerts but are associated with areas of Misconduct as opposed to a lack of attendance or submissions made by the student. Academic Misconduct Alerts fall into 8 main categories:
- Aiding and Abetting
- Coercion
- Contract Cheating
- False Citation
- Falsification
- Misconduct in Exams
- Multiple Submissions
- Plagiarism
A Misconduct warning may also be issued if the student has failed to complete the ‘Training in Good Academic Practice” (TGAP) module. If a student has been issued with a Misconduct Warning then they will be enrolled into the Remedial TGAP module for further training in good practice as well as standard procedures highlighted in the GAP policy.
