Question: Can I give undergraduate students access auditing access to my module?

By default MMS retrieves student lists from the Registry database (SITS), however undergraduate students that are not expected to submit coursework can be added to MMS as ‘Auditing’ students.

This is different from adding PGR students as auditing on a module.

To give an auditing student access:

  • Navigate to the Module Overview, either by clicking on the module title or typing in the module code in the ‘Search’ field at the top right of the Modules page.
  • Select the Students tab.
  • Go to the Search Students section (near the top of the page)
  • Enter the student’s username and click Search for Students.
  • Tick the Add? checkbox next to the student (if the name does not appear check the student record card to ensure they are a current student).
  • Click the Add Selected Students button.
  • The student will now appear in both the ‘School/Registry Differences’ section and the ‘Current Students’ section.
  • Locate the student in the Current Students section,
  • From the drop down list in the Status column, select Auditing.
  • Click the Update Students' Status button to save (some browsers will save automatically - if this is the case a notification will appear)

Save the change by clicking the ‘Update Student’ Status’ button. The student will now disappear from the ‘School/Registry Differences section.
