Registering for the MOS Program

MOS Certification for the 2025-26 session is open for registration to all University staff and students. 

Who should register:

  • New Participants: If you have never registered for MOS in a previous year, follow the 'How to Register' instructions below.
  • Previous Participants: If you have already registered for MOS in any previous year and have not received a Renewal Notice, please email it-training@st-andrews.ac.uk to request the Renew Registration form.
  • External Candidates: If you are outwith the University of St Andrews and would like to sit MOS exams at our testing centre, please email your request directly to it-training@st-andrews.ac.uk.

How to Register:

  1. Complete the online registration Form (see link below)
    • You must log in with your University Microsoft 365 credentials (e.g., userID@st-andrews.ac.uk and your University password).
  2. Submit the form carefully
    • You may only submit the form once, so review your details before submitting.
  3. Wait for your certification pack
    • Your registration is not complete until you receive your Certification Pack via your University email. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing.

Your Certification Pack

Once registered, you will receive a Certification Pack with instructions for accessing training materials and exam booking details, including:

  • Installing and activating the GMetrix Skills Management System
    GMetrix delivers exam-like practise tests. Use this software to assess your current skill level and identify areas for improvement.
  • Additional MOS targeted training resources
    Details on how to access Microsoft Imagine Academy courseware and training workbooks.
  • Exam delivery and booking
    Includes the form link to book your selected exam sessions. Exam dates are scheduled throughout the year and listed on the MOS homepage.
