Microsoft Office 365

  • Microsoft Imagine Academy

The University provides access to the Microsoft Imagine Academy courseware, offering official Microsoft courses in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. The courses are packaged as shared OneNote files containing sequenced lesson modules and accompanying exercises. These courses are targeted for Microsoft certification preparation but can also be used for general skill development. Further information on accessing Imagine Academy courseware.

  • Formatting Dissertations in Word

A downloadable guide is available to help you format your dissertation using Microsoft Word. It includes tips and links to additional Microsoft training resources. See the Dissertation Formatting Guide

  • Training Workbooks

Explore a comprehensive collection of Training Workbooks for Office 2016 applications and beyond (though a legacy version, is still very relevant to current application versions). Each workbook includes step-by-step exercises and downloadable course files. Topics include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote, Outlook, Visio, Publisher, and Microsoft Project. Instructor-led courses 

Staff and PGR students can attend in-person training sessions covering Microsoft 365 apps, Adobe Digital Media applications, and LaTeX. Highly effective at embedding new skills, these courses get excellent feedback for outcomes and time/benefit ratio.

  • How to book

Courses are scheduled regularly and can be booked through the Personal Development Management System (PDMS). Class sizes are limited to ensure quality support, and sessions are repeated throughout the academic year.

Additional Software Training
Instructor-led training is also available for Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and LaTeX. These courses are offered each semester and are bookable via PDMS.

Gain an industry-recognised credential through our Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification Programme. Resources are available to not only aid in exam preparation but also will enhance your skill set in the process. See our MOS website for further information on our certification programme.
