EDI Services Provided
Working across the whole University our remit includes:
- Reporting to the Vice-Principal People and Diversity and the Central EDI Committee
- Guiding Schools and Service Units on equalities compliance
- Providing support on University wide Diversity Awards
- Delivery of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and associated strategic and operational action plans
- Promoting best HE sector practice in equalities
- Providing a confidential service of advice to individuals (staff, students, visitors)
- Externally collaboration with diverse communities
- Conducting Equality Impact Assessments
- Managing and delivering equalities training
- Providing Scottish Government and SFC reports for funding compliance
The EDI Unit comprises of:
- Head of EDI advising on strategy, discrimination, harassment (also refer to HRBPs) and funding compliance
- Deputy Head of EDI, providing guidance and support on disability and supporting Schools and Units with Equality Impact Assessments
- E&D Awards Advisers providing guidance on Athena Swan and Race Equality Charters, delivering support on Access to Work
- EDI Assistant providing administration support.
