Further support for teaching
CEED provides support for staff and students involved with Vertically Integrated Projects. We provide a VIP Professional Skills course for students, and an Assessing reflective writing workshop for staff.
There is a wealth of support for teaching provided by colleagues outside of CEED. The University’s Education pages provides details of key contacts in Schools (eg Directors of Teaching), relevant committees (eg Learning and Teaching Committee), information on timetabling, policy and guidance for curriculum development and examinations and assessment, and much more. There is also the Education blog with topics such as assessment, supporting students, remote teaching case studies, among many others.
The University values the contributions of all teaching staff and hosts an annual Teaching Excellence Awards ceremony to recognise academic staff who are making a significant contribution to excellence in teaching across the University. The Students’ Association runs its own Teaching Awards scheme, and all awards are presented together at the joint ceremony.
You can also access funding to develop new teaching initiatives.
Staff are also encouraged to review this short (~1 hour) Open Learn online course on Corporate Parenting in Higher Education, which will "develop your understanding of care experience, listening to the voices of Care-Experienced students, and improve your awareness of your responsibilities as a Corporate Parent."
